Meet Ouida Joi Cooper-Rodriguez, M.A.

Ouida (pronounced Weeda) Joi is a Fund Development Professional, Grant Writer, and Organizational Strategist, specializing in sustainable fund development processes and systems, from grant research, grant writing, grant reporting, and everything in between.
She is a proud member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Grant Professional Association (GPA).
With over three decades as an Executive Director, Development Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer, Non-Profit and Small Business Consultant, and Executive Coach, Ouida Joi brings a unique holistic perspective to fund development consulting offering clients deep insights into the fund development, budgeting, and program development processes. She estimates that she has raised or supported the acquisition of over $50 million throughout her career. In mid-2025, she raised over $400,000 in government and foundation funding, with the highest ask of $1.5 million (still pending). Her development areas of expertise include, homelessness and housing services (HUD, ESG, CDBG), affordable housing, women's empowerment, and food insecurity,

​​Ouida Joi has an M.A. in Management, a B.A. in Behavioral Science/Psychology (Magna Cum Laude), and Ed.D coursework in Organizational Development. She is a life-long learner and is constantly upgrading her skills to stay current with best practices in the fund development field.
​​Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Ouida Joi is an amateur Miksang photographer and enjoys facilitating mindfulness meditation, writing, yoga, singing, traveling, and spending time in nature, especially at the Pacific Ocean. She is tri-located and divides her time between the charming state of Delaware, the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, and vibrant Las Vegas.
