Meet Ouida Joi Cooper-Rodriguez, M.A.

Ouida (pronounced Weeda) Joi is an Executive Career Coach, Fund Development Professional, and Organizational Strategist specializing in sustainable fundraising systems, capacity building, strategic planning, and personalized executive coaching for 60+ professional women who are creating the next level in their careers and their lives, whether in a corporate boardroom or in her own boardroom.

A proud member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and Grant Professionals Association (GPA), she brings over three decades of leadership experience as an Executive Director, Development Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer, Consultant, and Executive Career Coach for professional women 60+.
Ouida Joi's holistic nonprofit consulting methodology integrates fund development, budgeting, and program design, having helped raise or support more than $50 million throughout her career. In mid-2025 alone, she secured over $400,000 in public and foundation funding, with an additional $1.5 million request pending. Her expertise spans homelessness and housing services (HUD, ESG, CDBG), affordable housing, women’s empowerment, and food insecurity.
Ouida Joi holds an M.A. in Management, a B.A. in Behavioral Science/Psychology (Magna Cum Laude), and Ed.D coursework in Organizational Development. A life-long learner, she continuously updates her skills to stay aligned with best practices in philanthropy and leadership.
Trained through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) during its founding years, she brings more than two decades of experience helping executives and emerging leaders navigate transition and reinvention. Her coaching approach blends reflection, self-assessment, and strategic action to align purpose with professional vision, empowering women leaders 60+ to lead with authenticity and renewed confidence, vibrancy, and passion.
An Air Force veteran, Ouida Joi began her career as a Mental Health Clinic Specialist and later served in the Army National Guard as a Public Affairs Specialist and Broadcast Journalist.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, she spent four decades in the San Francisco Bay Area and now divides her time between Delaware, the Bay Area, and Las Vegas. An amateur Miksang photographer and Mindfulness Meditation facilitator, she enjoys writing, yoga, singing, travel, and time in nature, especially along the Pacific Ocean.
